Terry Lifts portable lift South Korea

Terry Lifts has reported a significant rise in orders from its South Korean export partner, UD Center, with the Cheshire-manufacturer sending over 70 units of its portable platform lift to the East Asian country.

It follows an announcement by the homelift specialist in September highlighting the success it has seen in Australian, Italian, French and South Korean markets this year.

According to Terry Lifts, it exported an initial order for a portable platform lift in 2018 to its South Korean partner in 2018 and, since then, has seen volumes steadily increase.

From January to September 20202, the manufacturer has sold 71 units.

The rise in sales has been attributed to the hard work of the UD Center to popularise the portable lift by attending large exhibitions in South Korea and at many public institutions.

A significant amount of interest comes as the South Korean government imposes regulations for suitable access and disabled facilities in public buildings.

With Terry’s Lift meeting the criteria, it has seen its units used across schools, colleges, district government offices and art centres in the East Asian country.

Working with the team at Terry Lifts, UD Center has stated its long-term plan to expand its lift portfolio and grow sales through its business network and sales agencies in other districts.

Steve Hill, Sales Manager for Terry Lifts, said: “We have been exporting lifts across the globe for more than 40 years and we are incredibly pleased with the interest from South Korea.

“At the peak of the pandemic, overseas sales were so significant that the export market drove the first wave of production staff returning to work.  We have continued to support UD Center throughout the crisis, and we look forward to strengthening our partnership further, in the New Year.”

The portable platform lift provides a flexible solution where wheelchair access is required on a temporary basis and is typically used to access stage and mezzanine levels.

The compact lift can be wheeled into position with minimal effort and folds down easily for transportation and storage, while built-in batteries provide up to 30 cycles between charges.

For short and long-term access solutions, Terry Lifts’ portable platform lift is also available for hire, exclusively in the UK.
