People First Mobility shortlisted for Britain’s best High Street Hero business
Skegness-based mobility retailer People First Mobility has been selected as a finalist for the High Street Hero at this year’s Small Awards.
Now in its eighth year, The Small Awards is a nationwide search for the smallest and greatest firms in the UK, across all sectors. It is organised annually by Small Business Britain, which champions the nation’s 5.5 million small firms.
People First Mobility has been on the high street in Skegness for 21 years. This is the fourth time People First Mobility has been finalists at the Small Awards competing against many excellent businesses, demonstrating its dedication and commitment to the customer and the local community.
The retailer has selected as one of just 10 finalists for the High Street Hero Award for best high street business that recognises and celebrates the nation’s standout independents that play a key role on their local high streets and within their communities.
With 11 different categories, the Small Awards celebrate the dynamism and resilience exhibited in the UK’s small business sector, across everything from sustainability heroes to digital stars, to long-standing family businesses.
Michelle Ovens CBE, Founder of Small Business Britain, commented: “The Small Awards is all about celebrating the inspiring small business owners who are at the heart of the economy and their communities,” said “They are an opportunity to recognise and applaud the passion and resilience of the nation’s small firms, particularly amidst such turbulent times.
“People First Mobility is extremely deserving of being shortlisted for this award and we can’t wait to celebrate with them in May.”
Karen Sheppard, Director of People First Mobility commented to THIIS: “As a finalist for the High Street Hero Award, I’m honoured and grateful for the recognition. It reaffirms my commitment to supporting our local businesses and revitalizing our community’s heart. It is not just a personal achievement but a testament to the unwavering support of our loyal customers.
“Their trust and support have been the cornerstone of our efforts to revitalize our local community and ensure the vitality of our high streets. They’re the reason we’ve been able to make a difference in our community and keep our high streets bustling.”
Judged by a panel of industry experts, the winners of all categories, including the overall winner of the Small Business of the Year award, will be announced at a splendid awards ceremony in London on 16th May, 2024.
The ceremony will this year be held at St Mary’s Church in London, with plans underway for a night of entertainment, inspiration, and celebration for UK’s greatest small businesses.
People First Mobility is no stranger to award recognition. In 2022, the business was crowned the #SBS Small Business Award Winner at the 2022 Scale-Up Awards and it was named winner of the Triumph over Adversity Award at the National Finals of the Rural Business Awards.
