As a long-standing supporter of the National Trust’s Ickworth Estate, TGA Mobility will be helping to make its November ‘Light Nights’ event more accessible by loaning mobility scooters and wheelchair powerpacks.

Ickworth’s Light Nights takes place at the Ickworth Estate in Bury Saint Edmunds, Suffolk, from 11–27th November 2022.

‘Ickworth’s Light Nights’ provide the opportunity to enjoy an evening stroll around the Estate with its ancient woodland and historic buildings illuminated in colourful displays. Visitors will be able to “soak up an enchanting atmosphere as they weave through canopies of trees, Italianate evergreens and Gothic Victorian-esque stumpery.”

To ensure people with walking difficulties can access this winter lights event, TGA’s resident fleet of all-terrain Breeze S4 mobility scooters will be available across all 17 nights. They will be free to hire as usual and in addition on the 14th and 15th November, there will be friendly TGA staff on hand with extra products.

Daniel Stone, TGA Managing Director, explains why TGA are supporting this event: “We are absolutely delighted to be supporting the team at Ickworth as they push for greater accessibility at this amazing estate and the events they hold.

“As a National Trust property close to us, we are very proud that a fleet of Breeze scooters has been helping people to explore the paths and trails around the park for some years. Many just struggle to walk the distances and need a bit of help to get around in comfort and being able to do so is so important for health and wellbeing.”

Daniel adds: “We will be working in partnership with Ickworth to increase availability of scooters and wheelchairs for accessible evenings during the upcoming Light Nights event meaning that not even a night-time wander through the gardens illuminated by spectacular lighting need be off-limits. We look forward to lending a hand and seeing more people experience this amazing event.”

After seeing the magical light displays, visitors borrowing the TGA scooters and wheelchair powerpacks will also benefit from easier access to Ickworth’s West Wing for late night shopping and warming seasonal refreshment.

Visitors, who need to pre-book their tickets for the event, with timed tickets available from 4.30pm, can choose to reserve a TGA mobility scooter or wheelchair powerpack when purchasing an event ticket.

TGA Mobility, which launched its WHILL F powerchair and Zest S mobility scooter at Naidex earlier in the year, has been a provider of mobility scooters and wheelchairs for over 30 years. It is proud to enable more people through its partnership with leading organisations such as Parkinson’s UK, Northern Rail and Lake District National Park.
