Rehasense UK at Kidz to Adultz SouthMobility solution distributor Rehasense UK made its Kidz to Adultz debut at the Kidz South event where they showcased the range of power add-ons, manual wheelchairs, and the Track Wheel in conjunction with Staines-based dealer EPC Wheelchairs.

Ian Harvey, Business Development Manager at Rehasense UK commented: “As this was our first time exhibiting at a Kidz to Adultz event were not sure what to expect but it turned out to be a great day with our Eco Assist lightweight power add-on and Power Assisted Wheelchair Systems (PAWS) proving to be very popular as was our Icon 60 manual wheelchair and Track Wheel attachment.

“It was a great opportunity to engage with so many young wheelchair users and their families or carers and let them try out our equipment.”

Consisting of a high strength aluminum chassis, 350-watt motor and 48-volt battery, the Eco Assist offers a cost-effective solution for wheelchair users looking for an entry level power add-on to increase their independence. Weighing 15.5kg with the battery and 9.4kg without, the Eco Assist manually clamps onto the frame of the wheelchair and disconnects in one simple movement.

There are three models in the PAWS range, the City, Cruiser and Tourer. The City is the entry level model. Available with a 12” or 14” wheel, the City has been designed mainly for use around town with the 12” wheel ideal for smooth tarmac roads while the larger 14” wheel can handle slightly more uneven surfaces.Rehasense UK at Kidz to Adultz South

With a larger 16” wheel, the mid-range Cruiser has been designed for wheelchair users looking for a power add-on to enable them to venture off standard road surfaces and onto more uneven terrain such as a forest trail.

The Tourer can take the wheelchair users across terrain which would normally be inaccessible. With a 20” wheel, 4” fat tyres and longer wheelbase for increased clearance and manoeuvrability, the Tourer is equally at home on tarmac or in a off-road environment.

The Icon 60 is one of the most adjustable wheelchairs currently available and features a lightweight rigid 7000 Series aluminium alloy frame and carbon fibre side panels (boxed configuration not prescriptive model).

The Track Wheel has been designed to transform a standard manual wheelchair into an agile tricycle. By attaching the 12” Track Wheel, the wheelchair’s castors are raised which slightly tilts the chair backwards and by noticeably reducing the rolling resistance, the user can enjoy increased speed and manoeuvrability.

Rehasense recently announced it is set to exhibit for the first time at The Big Event event, the Motability show which will heading to Birmingham’s NEC from 17-18 May 2024.
