Motability Scheme’s One Big Day Edinburgh cancelled following passing of HM the Queen
Following the sad news of the passing of Her Majesty the Queen, and as a mark of respect, Motability Operations has taken the decision to cancel its One Big Day Edinburgh event which was due to take place on Saturday 17 September 2022.
A spokesperson for Motability Operations commented: “We apologise to our customers who were planning to attend the event in Edinburgh on Saturday, but we hope you understand this decision to cancel. Unfortunately we won’t be able to reschedule for 2022, but we look forward to returning to Edinburgh in the future, and bringing One Big Day back for our Scottish customers.
“As an active Chief Patron of Motability, the charity, we feel this is the right decision to honour her extraordinary contribution to the Scheme. Our thoughts are with the Royal Family at this time.”
Free to attend, the One Big Day events were held at various locations around the UK over the summer and enabled disabled motorists and their friends, families and carers to find out all they need to know about getting mobile with the Motability Scheme.
The events would offer a range of over 40 cars from 20 leading manufacturers including Ford, Nissan and Hyundai. In addition, over a huge range of scooters and powered wheelchairs would typically be on display, as well as adapted cars and Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs).
Visitors were able to get advice from Motability Scheme advisors and gather useful information from Scheme partners – Kwik Fit, RAC and RSA Motability.
Motability provides worry-free, affordable motoring to disabled people and their families in the UK through the Motability Scheme. The organisation recently kickstarted a series of pilots in its search for new, innovative ways to support Motability Scheme customers on the journey to green, inclusive mobility.
