mobility and lifestyle coventry store almost complete
The company says signage is now up and the interior shop fit is complete

With eight mobility retail shops spread across the East and West Midlands, Mobility & Lifestyle has announced it is to open a new showroom in Coventry, adding to the city’s growing mobility retail landscape.

Formed in 2006 by founded by Jason Wittering and Richard Smith, Mobility & Lifestyle has grown to become one of the largest independent mobility companies across the Midland, serving 30,000 customers across its portfolio of stores and boasting a dedicated service centre.

Stating it is the only company in the Midlands to trade as main dealers for both Pride and Electric Mobility, Mobility & Lifestyle maintains it runs a simple and straightforward business model focused on “logical store planning, fully trained staff and excellent after sales.”

Embarking on what it describes as the third phase of its expansion plan in 2019, the new Coventry outlet will mark the first shop launch of the year for Mobility & Lifestyle, with potentially more stores opening before the end of the year.

Highlighting what makes the company unique, Richard Smith said: “We have an infrastructure that allows to be flexible and supportive, we have a central storage facility backed by an internal delivery network meaning if it’s not in store then 10 times out of 10 we can get a stock item to the customer within 24 hours. Along with this we have established relationships with our key suppliers allowing us to offer better prices and priority service over other mobility companies. We have a policy of if we haven’t got it we can get it, we pride ourselves on the biggest choice at the best prices.”

With the launch of its new store, Mobility & Lifestyle will bring its product portfolio of various mobility ranges, from scooters to stairlifts, to Coventry, alongside a servicing and repair service, free home demonstrations and assessments, and free delivery & white glove handover service on all powered mobility products.

With Middletons having opened its Coventry outlet in January 2019, this latest addition will continue to see competition increase in the city.

In the first half of 2019, the West Midlands has seen a flurry of activity in the mobility retail sector, with a number of players expanding their operations.

Middletons recently opened its Brierley Hill store, whilst Easy Living Mobility expanded its store portfolio to 11 in June with the launch of its first franchise-owned store in Wolverhampton. Additionally, Ableworld is set to cut the ribbon on a new flagship store in Stafford in July 2019.
