In recognition of a shift in consumer and partner habits post-Covid, Handicare Accessibility is accelerating digitisation of the way it does business, introducing more online resources and services for its partner network and their customers.

Handicare’s VP Commercial Clare Brophy said the pandemic had driven more people to use online platforms for communicating and sourcing information about products and services.

As well, dealers are embracing online training and technical support which reduces the amount of time they spend away from their business.

During the lockdown Handicare successfully ran live online training for engineers around the world and launched an online troubleshooter to provide 24/7 technical support.

“The Handicare Online Academy is the next step in our digital strategy, giving engineers access to videos, presentations and manuals to provide all the expertise they need to install and maintain our new Handicare 4000 stairlift,” said Clare.

Training can be completed anywhere using a laptop, mobile or tablet, and has been created by Handicare’s specialist tech support team with all the knowledge and information that would be provided at in-person sessions.

The online training platform sits alongside Handicare’s TechTool online troubleshooter, giving Partners 24/7 access to technical support.

With over 1,300 users worldwide, the TechTool site recently expanded to include the 1100, Handicare’s flagship straight stairlift. It provides technical news so that engineers have access to all the latest updates at their fingertips whenever they need them.

“These digital innovations help Partners to keep engineers on the road while accessing technical support instantly and fitting training around their regular work.

“They will save Partners precious time and money enabling them to prioritise core activities at a time when finances are being squeezed by the rising cost of running a business,” Clare added.

Handicare’s training venues across Europe including the Kingswinford Academy will still be available for new engineers to train in-person.

At the UK’s state-of-the-art training facility engineers get hands-on experience on eight demo staircases where they can install and work on the full range of Handicare stairlifts.

Online learning will complement the in-person training offered at the site by allowing experienced engineers to train remotely.

Clare said: “The Handicare Academy consistently sets the industry standard with our outstanding product knowledge and five-star rated learning experience.

“To have the option to train online takes away the hassle for our Partners, so they can get that five-star experience with all the convenience of an online course.

“Handicare is moving towards a digital future, and this is the next step in that process. TechTool has had excellent feedback, and we’re gearing up to make even more of our resources available remotely for Partners all over the world.

“Our Partner network is expanding all the time, and providing training and support digitally will allow us to upscale sustainably to make life easier for our partners, and, ultimately, for our end users.”

Online training on the Handicare 4000 is available for Handicare Partner engineers who are experienced in installing and maintaining curved twin-rail lifts. Partners can speak to their BDM to learn more and register for online training today.
