Essential Healthcare Solutions mattress up for innovation award after successful evaluation
Following a successful 2019 which saw the company secure 23 new NHS contracts and increase its turnover by 32 per cent, Essential Healthcare Solutions has made the shortlist for the 10th Yorkshire Business Masters Awards.
With the Awards designed to celebrate a wide range of businesses for their achievements from companies across the region, the shortlist was selected by an independent panel comprising senior business leaders across Yorkshire and the Humber.
The company’s Trezzo HS with Dura-last technology has been selected as one of the finalists in the Innovation category, with the winning product being announced at TheBusinessDesk.com’s black-tie awards dinner on Thursday, March 26 at The Queens Hotel, Leeds.
Having been evaluated in vascular and stroke wards over a six-week period in different NHS Trusts by the University of Huddersfield, the research found the Trezzo HS with Dura-last demonstrated a reduction in dynamic mattress use by 70 per cent.
According to the post-evaluation cost-benefit analysis undertaken by the University, it projected an annual saving of £54,634.00, representing 80.4 per cent reduction in expenditure across only 57 beds.

Speaking with THIIS in December 2019, the company confirmed it will continue to invest in expanding its operations in 2020, with plans to open two new service & distribution centres in the North West and South.
