23 new NHS contracts secured in 2019 drives Essential growth with more products planned in 2020
With turnover increasing 32 percent and a multi-million investment in its facilities, pressure care specialists Essential Healthcare Solutions, part of the Essential Group of Companies, has declared 2019 a particularly successful year for the company.
New contract wins across the UK, long-term partnerships with the NHS, expansion into new regions and retention of over 90 percent of its existing contracts have all helped to contribute the Essential Healthcare Solutions’ growth, with Thomas Owens, Managing Director of Essential Group, praising the team.
“This has been an exceptional year for Essential. I am incredibly proud of the entire team, who have worked tirelessly to secure new contracts, deliver great service and who have helped to make us one of the leading healthcare businesses in the UK,” commented Thomas.
“The business is not only growing but flourishing locally and on a national basis.”
Providing high-level pressure area care surface technologies and supporting services to the NHS, Essential also operates contracts for large national care home and specialist care groups across the UK.
According to Thomas, he has big ambitions to continue Essential Healthcare Solutions‘ growth into the year ahead.
“We are committed to developing and delivering innovative products to support the NHS and other healthcare providers, enabling them to provide the best support to patients, and 2020 is set to be another pivotal year for Essential,” he continued.
“We have more new and innovative products in the pipeline, will be opening the doors to our new decontamination facility and will be further extending our reach across the UK.”
With a renewed focus on targeting the NHS and an expansion of its offering beyond its pressure area care range into audit, service & repair of medical equipment and rental services, as well as cleaning and decontamination offerings, has enabled Essential to ramp up its work with the NHS.
The company now works with over 60 NHS Trusts across the country, having secured 23 new NHS contracts in the last year alone.
In addition, Essential has finished an investment of £3.2 million into its Head Office facility which will enable the business to grow its capacity from 2,000 decontaminations to 6,000 decontaminations per week at its cleaning and decontamination facility.
This new facility will also be used as a customer experience centre, says the company, and will feature a product showcase, training and education suite.
2020 will also see further expansion of the business and the opening of new facilities across the UK, including a further two service & distribution centres in the North West and South, confirmed Essential.
Other growth milestones include key appointments across the business and the creation of eight new jobs, taking its headcount to 55 employees.
