Acorn Stairlifts electric powered van
Hugues Auclerc, Acorn’s Isle of Man representative, explained that the island is the perfect choice for the firm’s first all-electric van

Global stairlift manufacturer Acorn Stairlifts has announced that its first fully electric-powered van is in operation.

With the first of its EV vehicles currently based in the Isle of Man, Acorn stated that it is planning to switch more of its delivery and service vans to create an ‘all green’ fleet!

Hugues Auclerc, Acorn’s Isle of Man representative, explained: “The island is the perfect choice for our first all-electric van, since the distances I cover mean I’ll never get near its maximum range of around 250 miles between charges.

“The ID Buzz’s zero emission credentials mean it’s also great for our beautiful environment.”

Yorkshire-based Acorn Stairlifts last year revealed that its financial results showed that the business had emerged strongly from the global Covid-19 pandemic and was benefiting from strategies put in place to combat its effects.

All Acorn Stairlifts are manufactured in the UK, but exported for sale in Western Europe, North America and Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
