Yorkshire mobility retailer’s customer service proves to be a tour de force after multiple award success
Yorkshire-based Rise Furniture and Mobility has received recognition for its customer service both regional and nationally, recently scooping up awards at two different events.
The Harrogate store was presented with the Service Excellence Award at the National Best New Business Awards held annually in London. The prize is bestowed on to a company that provides outstanding assistance and advice to those who buy or use the business’ products, along with customer testimonials.
Shortly after the company’s national award triumph, Managing Director Carl Drake returned to Yorkshire and received the Best Customer Service Award’ by BBC presenter Harry Gration MBE at the Harrogate Excellence in Business Awards.
“This has been a remarkable year and we’re extremely proud our hard work has been recognised,” said Carl.
With over 35 years’ industry experience and has previously been the managing director of another retail brand in the market, Carl Drake launched Rise Furniture and Mobility in August 2017 with his wife Angel. Since then, the company has gone on to receive multiple awards.
Discussing why Rise Furniture and Mobility’s customer service set it apart from the competition, Carl told THIIS: “Mobility retail is very different from any other sector because one has a duty of care when dealing with people that are elderly or vulnerable.
“It isn’t about selling to your customers, it’s more about them buying from you. Establishing trust and offering impartial advice without compromising quality or customer service, in a calm, ethical and professional manner.”
Highlighting that awards are an effective means to gain valuable exposure, Carl finished: “Our awards recognition has brought press interviews, invitations to give presentations, interests from overseas and even sitting on panels within the healthcare sector.”
The Harrogate showroom and company website sells a range of mobility equipment, including rise and recline chairs, bespoke adjustable beds, stairlifts and mobility scooters, and featured in THIIS’ ‘Retailer Spotlight’ feature in May 2018.
