TGA and TfL partner up
National mobility scooter and wheelchair provider TGA has launched a new partnership with Transport for London so together they can raise greater awareness of free assistance services for passengers with restricted mobility.

TGA states that it believes in keeping everyone moving whether that’s in the countryside, a city or in and around our capital. It wants to get across the message that for those who find walking a challenge, then getting around London can be done with the right mobility product and advice.

For this reason TGA has partnered with Transport for London (TfL) to encourage independent and accessible use of the capital’s transport network.

TGA works with many organisations to build barrier-free travel from National Parks to Northern Rail, helping with initiatives that enable travellers of all abilities through suitable products and signposting.

By working together, TGA and TfL are promoting the free Mobility Aid Recognition Scheme (MARS) and Travel Mentoring Services in London.

Travellers who need extra assistance in the capital can apply for a MARS card. This permit allows them to easily show bus drivers that their scooter is allowed onboard.

Daniel Stone, Managing Director of TGA, says: “The experience we have gained over the past 35 years means we can help recommend scooters and powerchairs based TfL’s criteria and individual needs.

“You can apply for a MARS card and also benefit from their special assistance services if needed. Our aim to help more people to be more mobile in the city.”

The TfL Travel Mentoring Service covers all transport across London. It aims to make buses, Tubes, the Elizabeth line, DLR, London Overground trains, trams, Thames Clipper and the IFS Cloud Cable Car more inclusive. Support includes help to plan accessible routes, travel apps and mentors who can accompany you on practice journeys.

Daniel concludes: “We’re proud to partner with TfL and to be able to use our experience and knowledge to help them meet their inclusion and accessibility goals.”

To complement TfL information, TGA is providing travel advice on its website and social media.
