Sunrise Medical’s high performing manual wheelchair wins Red Dot Award for product design
Wheelchair manufacturer Sunrise Medical has announced that its Quickie Nitrum ultra-light wheelchair has been awarded the renowned Red Dot Award 2022 for Product Design.
The Red Dot Design Award is a German international design prize recognised worldwide as one of the most sought-after seal of quality for products that feature an outstanding design.
Packed with numerous newly patented features and frame designs, the Quickie Nitrum has has won multiple prominent awards since launched in 2020.
The ultra lightweight wheelchair won the Mobility Product Award 2021 in the Manual Ultra Lightweight wheelchair category by Mobility Management in the US.
In less than a month after launch, Nitrum was also awarded ‘Retailer’s Choice of the Year 2020’ by THIIS Magazine in the UK.

Not only pioneering in product designs, Sunrise Medical has also featured the industry leading customer experience tools with the launch of QUICKIE Nitrum, including the highly innovative 3D visualizer and cool illustration tool with the cutting edge Augmented Reality technology.
Visitors to the Sunrise Medical website can create their own design and try out its augmented reality application as well as learn more about the Nitrum.
Last month it was announced that the Scoozy C electric mobility scooter, one of the latest additions to the TGA Mobility range in the UK, had been awarded the Red Dot Award 2022 for international design.
