Platform Housing Group has once again launched its popular grant initiative in a bid to encourage and champion diversity within its communities.

Group wide grants of up to £500, are now available to support projects that encourage, celebrate and highlight equality, diversity and inclusion within its localities, across the Midlands.

Platform Housing Group, which owns and manages 47,000 homes across the Midlands, actively encourages organisations, community groups and charities to apply for the grants via its website.

The grants aim to celebrate community diversity and differences, encourage inclusion and therefore must have positive impacts on the group’s customer base and communities alike – either directly or indirectly.

Tom Piotrowski, Diversity and Inclusion Manager stated: “Platform Housing Group is one of the largest housing associations in the Midlands and has a real sense of social purpose.

“We pride ourselves on playing our part in building stronger and more resilient communities and for us our Diversity Grants are just part of our commitment to do just that”.

Platform will be looking to hear from groups and organisations who would like to bring different groups of people together and promote good relations between them; especially if the project aims to give a voice to communities rarely heard from.

Examples of projects that would be considered for grant support include an awareness campaign projects around issues such as mental health, disability (visible and invisible), LGBT inclusion, ethnic or religious diversity, neuro-diversity.

It would also consider events celebrating different cultures and traditions and pioneering groups set up for people who may feel excluded or marginalised in localities and projects promoting greater dialogue between diverse communities
