Deltron Lifts confirms acquisition of Snowdrop Independent Living
Specialist mobility aids retailer Snowdrop Independent Living has been acquired by Deltron Lifts, which has stated that it intends to assist all existing and new clients as well as staff looking for a new position.
Birmingham-based Deltron Lifts installs, maintains and services all types of stairlifts and access lifts, as well as goods lifts, passenger lifts and escalators. Its lifts services cover Central England, London and the South Coast.
The lifts supplier had recently announced that it was selling half a million pounds worth of retail stock from Snowdrop Independent Living, which included patient handling equipment, mobility equipment and hygiene equipment on 25 and 26 February in Halesowen, West Midlands.
It was announced earlier in February 2022 that Snowdrop Independent Living had ceased trading and closed all seven of its stores, making all 37 of its staff redundant.
Insolvency practitioners Menzies LLP confirmed that the retailer had fallen intro administration due to challenging trading conditions and the business had been failing to hit its revenue forecasts.
With over two decades in the mobility field, Snowdrop had grown from a single shop in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, where it was headquartered, to seven showrooms across the West Midlands and South Wales offering retail, installation and engineering services.
