Motability TV ad campaign
The Motability Scheme is sending an insurance-based refund of £50 to customers who joined the Scheme before 4 January 2021 following a reduction in claims during the last couple of COVID-19 lockdowns.

The Scheme last sent a £50 refund to its customers in spring 2020, as the first lockdown started to ease, when it announced that it was sharing savings with customers after it recorded a lower level of insurance claims.

Car and WAV customers who have a Motability Scheme online account are being advised to request to have the money transferred directly to their bank account. Alternatively, customers who update their account details by 11 June 2020 can receive the insurance payment directly into their bank accounts.

The Scheme has said that once it has completed the online payments, it will then begin issuing the refund to remaining eligible customers by cheque.

Customers without a Motability online account can expect to be sent a cheque from 21 June 2021, up until the end of July 2021.

Founded in 1978, the Motability Scheme leases cars, powered wheelchairs and mobility scooters to recipients of qualifying mobility allowances across the UK.

Motability Operations, the company responsible for operating the Motability Scheme, is currently promoting its lease package with its first-ever national television campaign, with further promotion including radio, newspapers and social media channels.
