Management level restructure for Gerald Simonds Healthcare
Following the retirement of Gerald Simonds, the founder of Gerald Simonds Healthcare, and the company’s subsequent sale to the Borrum Healthcare Group in February 2019, the company has announced Doug Robinson is to step down as the company’s Managing Director.
With Doug staying on with the company in a part-time capacity as Commercial Manager, Michael Devine, formerly Gerald Simonds Healthcare’s Sales Director, is taking over the role.
In addition, Brett Gilham, formerly the company’s Strategic Operations Manager, has been appointed to the company’s board as Operations Director.
Commenting on his decision to step down, Doug commented: “My decision to semi-retire was taken some while ago, mainly for family reasons and I am delighted with the new appointments to the board. I have no doubt that they and the rest of our excellent team will take the company from strength to strength in the months and years ahead.”
One of the UK’s longest-established mobility retailers and distributors of manual and powered wheelchairs and power add-ons, Gerald Simonds was one of the pioneers in bringing lightweight wheelchairs to the market in the1980s as the first UK distributor of the Swede 24.
