Corien WheelAir expansion

Furthering its European expansion plans, WheelAir has secured a new distribution agreement with t-rv GmbH which will see its innovative temperature control systems introduced to retailers across Germany.

The distribution agreement marks another step in WheelAIR’s growth, having only entered the market with its wheelchair user cooling technology in 2017.

Focused on preventing issues caused by overheating and over-sweating, WheelAir’s systems disperse air evenly across wheelchair users’ backs, helping individuals to regulate their temperature, as well as keep skin dry and clean.

Over its relatively short time in the market, the Glasgow-headquartered start-up has enjoyed continued success, bolstering its team with clinical expertise, expanding its product range with new models, as well as establishing a wholly-owned subsidiary in Holland earlier this year.

Confirming that the Rotterdam office would act as a launchpad for its expansion into Europe, WheelAir will now see t-rv help it gain a foothold in Europe’s largest economy.

Based in Rheinstetten in the southwest of Germany, t-rv has been in the market for 25 years as a leading specialist for individual and complex seating and positioning solutions for disabled people.

Working with over a thousand retailers throughout Germany, t-rv is already the exclusive German importer and distributor of a wide range well-known brands, including ADI, Bodypoint, Boditrak, Stealth Products, Stimulite, Symmetric Designs, Varilite and V-Trak.

Discussing adding WheelAir’s products to its line-up, Nicole Püschel, CEO of t-rv, commented: “The WheelAir system is a game-changer for all wheelchair users struggling with overheating and over-sweating.

“We are looking very forward to the cooperation with Corien and her team and are very excited to introduce WheelAir to our clients!”
