Bathroom solutions provider Duravit has designed a sustainable, recyclable, shower tray, which due to its low weight is lighter to transport, helping to reduce its CO2 emissions.

The Sustano shower try is made from a durable material which can be recycled followed the usage phase which Duravit states is reflective of its its mindfulness about the environment, its employees, and future generations.

It has multiple installation options depending on structural factors and personal preference. The flush-mounted application lends itself to a seamless spaciousness, which is important for wheelchair users that need room to navigate their mobility device.

The material’s special surface texture means that Sustano shower trays with a matt surface attain anti-slip class C with no additional coating. This is the highest classification for wet (barefoot) areas, like shower rooms, which guarantees maximum safety.

Stephan Tahy, CEO of Duravit, said: “We live and breathe sustainability along our value-creation chain, with a clear focus on the four dimensions of water, resources, climate, and social commitment.

“Our actions – in all strategic areas – are being reviewed and optimized from the perspective of sustainability.”

The Germany-based company states that it is committed to treating resources with respect and supplying products that are especially long-lasting and sustainable.

The level access shower tray is suitable for accessible bathroom planning for wheelchair users and people with restricted mobility.

A level access shower is a shower area that does not have a step or lip in any way to enter the showering area. This means that people with all levels of mobility can enter the shower.

The Family Resources Survey: 2020 to 2021 reports that there are 14.6 million disabled people in the UK and 42 percent of pension age adults are disabled. Since there are no tripping hazards with a level access shower, the risks of a user injuring themselves whilst stepping in and out of the shower are considerably reduced.

Described with an “elegant, calm design”, the shower tray is ideal for contemporary bathrooms and features 21 sizes, making it the ideal solution for almost any new-build or renovation project.

With five attractive matt colors – White Matt, Matt Crème, Matt Light Gray, Matt Greige, and Matt Dark Gray as well as a glossy White, Sustano offers a range of options to match the color scheme of any bathroom. The surface of the glossy White variant is comparable to Duravit’s acrylic shower trays.
