Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare’s solutions for surges in bed capacity challenges this winter
Mobility equipment supplier Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare has stated that it has invested significantly in its rental assets this year to ensure that it can support hospitals in maintaining a high level of service and support for patients and staff through the difficult winter pressure months.
The last few years have seen some of the most challenging times for bed capacity planning and management, the supplier acknowledges, with current bed space already at a premium due to the backlog of medical cases which the NHS is faced with.
With the colder months approaching and the potential increased instances of hospitalisation due to winter infections and the rise of Covid-19, the demand on bed spaces will be pushed to extremes, it states, as it has done in previous years.
In response to this, Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare has confirmed that it will offer Rental Solutions, with high specification ward beds, dynamic mattress systems and specialist paediatric solutions ready to support acute customers’ changing requirements and ensure continuous provision.
Drive DeVilbiss has confirmed that it has “ring-fenced stock” to ensure that it can meet the anticipated demand with 24/7 support and products stocked in the UK across multiple sites for quick, local installation, offering a standard delivery of 48 hours, with next-day delivery available upon request.
The supplier stated that it can quickly increase temporary bed spaces and be reactive to the seasonal capacity challenges, with products available to rent per day, for a block period or for a defined contract term, ensuring a “fast response” to specialist clinical needs and seasonal pressures “without increasing overall bed stock.”
