Carol Elliot, City Mobility’s Managing Director and Carol Morrison, the Finance Director for Able Care, the parent company of City Mobility, attended the regional award ceremony held at Inverness’s Drumossie Hotel on 26 March 2023 and accepted the award on behalf of the City Mobility team.

Carol said “We still haven’t found out which customer nominated us for the award but we were delighted all the same. On a weekly basis we hear from customers telling us how the service we provide makes a huge difference to their lives but it is nice to have this acknowledged outside the disabled community through the business awards.”

In her winners speech, Carol, who herself has reduced mobility, encouraged those businesses present to consider how accessible their businesses were and to make improvements.

Some of the other local businesses to win on the night were Grazy Days; V8 Café; Tea by the Sea (Ullapool); The Trawler (Golspie); Vitamin Sea; The Station Hotel (Alness); The Thai Wellness Room.

All of the winning businesses automatically go through to the national awards being held in Glasgow In November, and they can be voted for here.

Founded in 2002, City Mobility is the UK’s most northerly Motability powered wheelchair and scooter dealership, with a reach of customers covering just over half of Scotland. Last year, the retailer celebrated its 20th anniversary with a visit from local MP Drew Hendry who came and toured its business in the Scottish Highlands.
