Care & Independence welcomes moving and handling expert to its business development team
Safe patient moving and handling experts, Care & Independence, have announced the appointment of moving and handling professional Richard Gomm as the latest addition to its business development team.
With deep experience of working in the medical device industry over the past two decades, Richard, as Business Development Manager, will initially be responsible for driving the company’s community equipment store-focused Comfort Value range of products.
Increasing awareness of and access to the new joint-assessment-led Glove sling and premium showering and bathing ranges will also form part of his remit.
Skilled in negotiation, business planning, sales, medical devices, and management, Richard was the standout candidate, according to the firm.

Richard joins the company at a time of fast growth and evolution, following the launch of new products and more in development. In the past 18 months, despite the pandemic, Care & Independence has said that it has seen its best-ever financial performance.
Richard’s post is effective from 23 August.
Oxfordshire-headquartered Care & Independence manufactures slings, shower chairs and cradles and stretchers, alongside selling a varied range of mobility aids and products to hospitals, nursing and residential homes and private customers.
