Care & Independence expands Burnett Remould range provision with more vacuum-moulding supports
Patient moving and handling specialists Care & Independence, the new manufacturers of the re-mouldable postural support brand Burnett Remould, have released more vacuum-moulding supports to the UK market.
Comprising a total of 24 vacuum-moulding supports, the supports have been categorised into six specifically-purposed product ‘families’; car, chair, head, lumbar, sleep and therapy, adding to the bathing family of products previously launched. The new products have been subjected to a rigorous approach to quality, states Care & Independence, as well as improvements in design and manufacture.
The Burnett Remould range of postural support products consist of a heat-sealed vinyl pouch filled with thousands of small soft beads – similar in some respects to a beanbag. When air is extracted from the pouch, the subsequent compression and pouch manipulation allows each application to be uniquely contoured to an individual’s body shape and needs.
Reintroduction of air ‘resets’ the support, enabling it to be repeatedly remoulded. The remould aspect makes these products ideal for multiple environments and suitable for use with over 30 medical conditions. The newest products in the range are also accompanied by quilted-cotton or spacer fabric covers.
James Bennett, Sales & Marketing Director for Care & Independence, has previously expressed the company’s commitment to improving lives of the less abled and reiterates how these latest product designs support that goal. “We are pleased to bring such diversity in postural support aids to the market. The wide-ranging applications and circumstances which the latest products can address, will help and improve real world experiences for countless more individuals,” he remarked.
Headquartered in Bicester, Oxfordshire, Care and Independence are a Class-1 medical devices British manufacturer and supplier of specialist moving and handling equipment for the less abled. The firm recently announced its latest product innovation, the Glove Convenience Max.
