Aergo Health partners with BES Healthcare for webinar about managing progressive disorders
Inclusive technology specialist Aergo Health has invited Dr Barend ter Haar from BES Healthcare to join discussions about the management of progressive disorders in its latest monthly webinar session next Tuesday.
‘in TWENTY’ is Aergo Health’s free monthly session which aims to cover a range of occupational therapy, physiotherapy and disability related topics in just 20 minutes on the first Tuesday of every month.
The focus for this session is ‘Managing Progressive Disorders’ – looking at what healthcare professionals can do to help people whose functional abilities reduce over years and months as muscle control progressively decreases while the need for intervention increases.
The session is aimed at clients, carers, retailers, therapists, or engineers involved with progressive disorders and the prescription of their equipment.
Dr ter Haar has been involved in seating and mobility for over 30 years, including lecturing internationally, and developing international seating standards. He writes regularly for THIIS Magazine, including about dynamic seating.
Participants at the session will also have an opportunity to ask Dr ter Haar any burning questions they may have.
Aergo Health is the firm behind the Aergo PS, which laid claim to being the world’s first automated postural seating system, and which uses a network of pressure sensitive air cells to continuously monitor sitting position and provide automated correction.
Dr Barend ter Haar commented to THIIS: “Many people need assistive products to help overcome physical, mental, or ‘behavioural’ impairments. For many people these impairments are not the same from day to day, or even from hour to hour.
“This can be particularly true for those with neurological or neuromuscular disorders. What can we do to help where individuals need more than static seating solutions?”
The online event takes place on Tuesday 4th October 4, 2022, from 1pm to 1.30pm.
