British manufacturer Acorn Stairlifts has become a member of the ‘Which? Trusted Trader’ scheme and has also gained a coveted five-star rating on online review site ‘Trustpilot,’ helping cement the company’s image as a trustworthy and reliable brand.

The company says it recognises the importance of receiving positive customer testimonials, featuring them in its brochures, on its website and in a range of promotional material, to help persuade potential customers of the benefits of having an Acorn stairlift.

Simon Webster, Head of Marketing at Acorn, explained: “In this day and age, savvy customers increasingly look for independent reviews and endorsements by trusted consumer advisors before choosing where to invest their money, especially for a substantial purchase like a stairlift.

“We already know our stairlifts are a premium product, but we shouldn’t expect our customers to simply take our word for it without seeking independent verification elsewhere. That’s why trusted consumer organisations such as ‘Which?’ and review websites like ‘Trustpilot’ are so important.”

Acorn is also accredited under the Government-endorsed ‘Trustmark’ programme and is a member of the Trading Standards Buy-With-Confidence scheme. Adding new endorsements from Which? and Trustpilot further reassures customers that Acorn is a reliable company.

Becoming a Which? Trusted Trader involved completing a thorough assessment process, covering all aspects of best practice in business and excellence in customer service. When Which? is completely satisfied that a business meets its stringent criteria, it rewards that business with its Trusted Trader status.

Similarly, achieving five-star status on Trustpilot requires an ongoing commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Simon added: “Trustpilot is a very public dialogue between a company and its customers. We monitor the site constantly, taking time to thank customers for posting their positive reviews, but also making sure we react appropriately on the rare occasion we receive a less-than-favourable comment.

“It inspires confidence that not only are the vast majority of our customers fully satisfied, but if something does go wrong we’re there to quickly put it right. That’s been the case since Acorn started in business 26 years ago, but Trustpilot gives us a ‘shop window’ to demonstrate it to a new generation of customers who can easily research suppliers like never before.”

According to Acorn, being able to feature Which? Trusted Trader and Trustpilot recognition on its marketing materials also benefits members of Acorn Stairlifts’ Accredited Partner Scheme. Retailers become a part of this scheme when they earn commission through successful recommendations of Acorn Stairlifts to their customers.

“When our retail partners can point out trusted endorsements like these, it gives them extra confidence in recommending our stairlifts to their customers and makes the process even easier for them,” concluded Simon.

“It’s far easier to recommend a product which already carries nationally recognised seals of approval from organisations like Which?, Trading Standards, Trustmark and Trustpilot.”

With headquarters based in Steeton, West Yorkshire, Acorn Stairlifts manufactures and installs stairlifts.
