Access BDD at The OT Show
Stairlift manufacturer Access BDD declared its appearance at the 2022 OT Show was a “resounding success” which culminated in the firm winning the award for Best Space Only Stand.

The recently launched HomeGlide straight stairlift made its UK debut at the show and provided to be extremely popular with OTs visiting the stand over the two days. Also on show was the Flow X curved stairlift, launched last year, showing off its impressive ASL technology. With both lifts already adhering to the EN 81-40:2020 stairlift safety standard that comes into effect in April 2023, it was a great opportunity for OTs to get to grips with the new requirements.

Adam Wakes, Access BDD’s Head of Marketing, commented: “OTs are often involved in the recommendation of our products, and we were delighted with the positive feedback the HomeGlide and Flow X received from them. Winning the award for Best Space Only Stand was the icing on the cake.

“We always strive to make our exhibition stand as visitor friendly as possible and receiving an award like this certainly makes all the hard work worthwhile.”

The newly redesigned single-moulded ergonomic seat features padding to ensure a firm and comfortable seat with plenty of support. In addition, the HomeGlide model is now available to order with the Extra or Outdoor package, allowing the user to tailor the lift to their needs. The Extra package features a powered swivel seat and an automatically linked footrest for those with limited mobility.

With a maximum weight capacity of 160kg as standard, this lift is suitable for more people than before. For outdoor environments, the HomeGlide Outdoor package is available with a key lock and has a weatherproof coating to protect against rain, dust and direct sunlight.

The Flow X curved stairlift from Access BDD features Advanced Swivel and Levelling technology (ASL) which enables the stairlift to rotate and swivel during travel, ensuring that the stairlift is always in the safest and most comfortable position.

ASL technology allows the footrest to remain independent from the drive unit and swivel with the seat; promoting a natural, comfortable seating position and unlike some models, there are no mechanical parts on show. The Flow X has a maximum weight capacity of 125kg (275lbs) and can be fitted on staircases as narrow as 610mm.
