Abacus to discuss the holistic practice of assisted bathing in CPD bathing webinar
Accessible bathroom supplier Abacus Specialist Bathroom Solutions, in association with The OT Service, will be presenting its latest free Abacus Academy CPD webinar for occupational therapists (OTs) later this month.
Presented by Occupational Therapist Adam Ferry, the webinar ‘We don’t do bathing:- Reflections of holistic practice and professional implications’ will take place on Thursday 31st March 2022, from 12pm-1pm with an occupational therapy Q&A session.
Abacus says it chose this topic to tackle the notion of “we don’t do bathing” among OTs – a comment that the assistive bathing specialist has heard during product demonstrations from this group.
Its latest session looks to consider the implications of this through an exploration of holistic practice and what that means for OTs in practice.
Abacus continues to leverage the power of OTs’ influence in raising awareness of the company, its products and services using the Abacus Academy resources created especially for this group.
The sessions are also proving to be popular at exhibitions, according to the supplier. Last year, Abacus presented a seminar on assisted bathing at the Occupational Therapy Adaptation Conference (OTAC), and then another in February on posture and bathing at Kidz to Adultz.
Abacus Academy is an online resource that enhances everyday practice for occupational therapists, physiotherapists and moving and handling practitioners.
CPD certificates are available to professionals who learn via the academy and will also be available to attendees after the latest live Abacus webinar.
