Abacus to engage OTS with posture and bathing seminar at upcoming Kidz to Adultz Middle
Accessible baths manufacturer Abacus Specialist Bathroom Solutions will host a new CPD seminar on posture and bathing at Kidz to Adultz Middle on 17 March in Coventry.
The seminar Managing bathing posture to support engagement and safety will be presented by occupational therapist Kate Sheehan in Seminar Room 2 from 10:30am.
The educational session, which counts towards CPD hours for delegates, will be supported by an Abacus bath display on stand E10.
Abacus states that by attending the seminar OTs will be able to consider the theory behind bathing posture, which is linked to functional engagement, safety and long-term health and well-being.
Practical demonstrations of products will be used to reinforce this learning and reflect on opportunities to meet this clinical and functional challenge.
There will also be an opportunity to discuss individual challenges both within the session and on the Abacus stand.
On stand E10, the Gemini 2000 bath will be displayed – winner of the ‘Excellence in Caring’ Award at the OT Show.
This “pioneering” variable height, two-metre bath is a larger version of the Gemini 1700 and provides future-proofed bathing for disabled adults and children.
Its ‘double lift action’ and integrated changing, drying and bathing platform ensures easier transfers and enhanced safety for both bather and carer.
As ever, Abacus states that its mascot Trevor the Turtle will be on hand for cuddles with younger visitors.
