Winncare launches complete Mangar Supine Transfer System to assist with falls
Medical device manufacturer Winncare has introduced the complete Supine Transfer System, which includes the Rhino Lifting Cushion, Swift Transfer Slide and Airflo Duo Compressor, to its range of products.
The products will sit alongside Winncare’s range of medical devices which consists of patient lifting cushions, bathing products, beds, pressure care mattresses and hoists.
Simon Claridge, CEO of Winncare UK, has said “We are delighted to see this innovative product come to market. We are confident the Supine Transfer System will be an excellent addition to our product range as we feel that our expertise not only with safe patient lifting devices, but also in manufacturing inflatable equipment, means that we have been able to produce an extremely effective solution to lift patients safely from the floor.
“We have showcased the Mangar Supine Transfer System at multiple events throughout this year and the response we received from healthcare professionals was incredibly exciting and really showed us how much this product will be able to make a different in hospitals and other healthcare settings.”
The Rhino Lifting Cushion is designed to inflate and lift a person in the supine position from the floor to a suitable height for a bed or stretcher. The Swift Transfer Slide reduces the amount of moving and handling force needed for lateral transfers and repositioning patients.
The Airflo Duo is a unique air pump which has been designed and tested by AMRC, part of Sheffield University. The Mangar Supine Transfer System is manufactured in the town of Presteigne, in mid-Wales.
Falls can happen in car parks, corridors and bathrooms as well as hospital wards and so equipment that is portable is essential to ensure patients are lifted quickly and safely.
The products are the first to be launched with an entirely portable pump, which works on both battery or mains power. The new Mangar products also offer hands-free inflation for the healthcare workers.
The Mangar Supine Transfer System has been tested for optimal ergonomics by the ATTiC team, part of the University of Wales, to ensure optimum back safety and comfort for both the patient and healthcare workers.
