Impey wetroom

UK wetroom manufacturer Impey is employing fully immersive virtual reality technology to offer a ground-breaking journey into the future of wetroom adaptations at this year’s OT Show, taking place at the NEC from 23-24 November.

The supplier will welcome show goers into its 4D showering experience, creating a 360-degree vision of the future.

Impey has been pioneering level access showering for over 25-years. With a mission to deliver the best possible accessible showering solutions, the brand created the first wetroom floor former with built-in drainage gradient and revolutionised the healthcare showering market.

At this year’s OT Show, Impey will once again push boundaries to bring the occupational therapy community an insight into the adapted wetrooms of the future. Focusing on the theme ‘Adapting for Change’, visitors to the Impey stand will be able to immerse themselves in a virtual showcase of the leading wetroom adaptation options.

Using the industry’s leading virtual reality software, occupational therapists will step inside Impey’s visionary showering spaces which combine elegant, ergonomic solutions with practicality, convenience and quality. The brand’s expansive portfolio of products on display will include: high performance wetroom floor formers, shower trays with graded slip resistance, multi-function grab rails, glass screens and modern shower seating.

Impey’s premium VR experience is also the technology behind the brand’s comprehensive bathroom surveys. Using full colour 3D renders, the team is able to create a realistic vision of accessible showering, which can benefit everyone involved in the process from OTs and service users to landlords and installers.

Neil Whitehead, Head of Marketing, commented: “We know that OTs provide a critical service for the specification of safe and functional showering spaces. We want to offer the best possible support to help navigate technical surveys, building regulations, funding, and compliance; enabling OTs to create the vital showering spaces which their clients and service users desperately need.

“Our stand at this year’s OT show aims to showcase the future of wetroom adaptations and dispel the myth that accessible showering spaces should be unattractive or purely clinical. We know, from extensive use in the retail sector, that exploring room sets in virtual reality offers a revolutionary new way of understanding how a bathroom works and feels.

“We’re confident that the OT community will be inspired by the new technology, and we’re also very excited to see the reactions!”
