Topro wins sustainability awardScandinavian walking aids supplier Topro has been awarded a prestigious award in Norway for its commitment to sustainability.

The jury highlighted its contributions to the UN’s sustainability goals, including Decent Work and Economic Growth (Goal 8), Responsible Consumption and Production (Goal 12), and Halting Climate Change (Goal 13) and awarded Topro the prestigious “Sustainability Project of the Year” at the Industry Day Norwegian Region – Inland..

Its project, “Resilience Through Sustainability,” has focused on reducing carbon emissions linked to production by bringing our operations back to Norway and transitioning to 100 per cent renewable energy sources.

This move, Topro states, has not only minimised its environmental footprint but has also fostered regional economic growth and ensured adherence to stringent environmental standards throughout its value chain.

Its aim is to encourage both governments and customers to prioritize sustainability in their decision-making processes, creating a more sustainable future for all.

Asbjørn Eskild, CEO of Topro, stated, “Bringing production home to Norway underscores our commitment to sustainability. We may not compete solely on production costs and salaries, but we excel in other crucial aspects, especially in our dedication to environmental preservation.”

Topro has been a recognised provider of rollators and other walking aids for more than 30 years. According to the firm, approximately 100,000 of its rollators are sold annually across more than 25 countries.

Earlier this year, Topro welcomed Milos Bulatovic as Supply Chain & Purchasing Manager, responsible for coordination between the supplier’s operational and production units.
