Sunrise Medical launches new Quickie folding carbon fibre power wheelchair
Mobility solutions manufacturer Sunrise Medical has announced the launch of lightweight folding power wheelchair that promises to be easy to transport, store, and manoeuvre for people who want to remain active and independent without the burden of a heavy and large mobility device.
The folding Quickie Q50 R Carbon boasts a carbon fibre frame, magnesium wheels and motors, and breathable upholstery make the Q50 R Carbon lightweight. Though light at 32 pounds, it’s strong and has a weight capacity of 300 pounds and has a sleek modern design that can be personalized with five accent colors.
The Q50 R Carbon’s dual battery provides a range of up to 15 miles, offering peace of mind and independence. High torque 250W brushless magnesium cast motors are powerful enough to overcome varying indoor surfaces and bumps in the pavement – for any journey. Intuitive to use, the brushless motor controller responds to commands and shows the remaining battery life.
Its folding mechanism is incredibly simple and makes the Q50 R Carbon a true space-saving wonder. Once folded, the Q50 R Carbon can rest upright on its anti-tips, making loading easy. The Q50 R Carbon’s compact profile fits easily into tight spaces or small car trunks, and a standard transport strap ensures it remains folded while handling.

The Q50 R Carbon comes standard with rear running lights, storage for a second battery, and a transport strap, providing added convenience without the need for additional purchases. It also boasts a lithium-ion battery that is aircraft-approved.
Sunrise Medical also recently launched a wireless, proportional head control that allows drivers to control their power wheelchairs and other devices with subtle and intuitive head movements.
