Scootaround launches new app which can book and activate mobility scooters and powerchairs
In an ‘industry first’ personal transportation solutions company firm Scootaround has trialled the soft launch of a brand new app with the ability to book and activate either a mobility scooter or WHILL powerchair device.
The soft launch took place between the 10th and 14th of July at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
Convention attendees were able to download the app on their phone, scan the barcode on the device, and fill out their booking details so that they could then enjoy the convention with mobility provided by the device.

In order to further its Mobility-as-a-Service model worldwide, WHILL held trials for its Airport Mobility Service in the US’ Dallas and Canada’s Winnipeg international airports.
The app is designed to allow users to quickly rent mobility equipment in hundreds of popular travel destinations across the U.S. and Canada with ease, showing the nearest rental locations to the user.
Customers can rent mobility scooters, wheelchairs, power chairs, rollators, oxygen concentrators, and more. Scootaround can deliver devices directly to a hotel, residences and cruise ships – whatever is most convenient for the end-user.
