Andrew Miller, CEO of Motability Operations said: “This summer we are thrilled to be introducing more electric vehicles at affordable prices to the Scheme than ever before. The record-breaking selection offers our customers a great range of EVs available with zero and low Advance payments and it reflects the significant investment we are making to support our customers in the transition to electric vehicles ahead of 2030.

“We’ve been working hard with our partners to continue toprovide the best possible value for our customers and with over 700 vehicles of all fuel types available, wehope our customers can easily find and lease a vehicle that meets their needs.”

For customers leasing an EV through the Scheme for the first time, Motability Operations offers support with charging – including covering the cost of a home chargepoint and a standard installation. Customers who are reliant on public chargepoints will be given a subscription to the bp pulse network during their lease. This gives access to over 9,000 public chargepoints, including 3,000 rapid and ultra-fast points, with some points being free to access.

There are also hundreds of petrol, diesel, and hybrid cars available to lease through the Motability Scheme, with an increased number of vehicles available at zero Advance Payment and under £1000 Advance Payment. The total number of vehicles available to lease through the Scheme comes to over 890.

Customers ordering their vehicle before the end of 2023 can use the Motability Scheme’s £750 New Vehicle Payment to help towards the cost of their Advance Payment. This payment can be used at the dealership or paid directly to the customer. This payment was introduced in February 2022 to help with the increasing price of new cars.

Leasing a vehicle through the Motability Scheme is simple and affordable for those receiving a qualifying mobility allowance. The worry-free leasing package includes insurance for up to three named drivers, RAC breakdown cover, vehicle servicing and maintenance and support with an electric car.

The Big Event, hosted by the Motability Scheme recently, saw its biggest ever attendance with a record-breaking turnout of more than 11,600 visitors attending the two-day event at The NEC in Birmingham.
