Peter Protchard, Motability
Motability Operations Group, the organisation which brings the Motability Scheme to over 640,000 people, has announced that Peter Pritchard has joined its Board, as an independent non-executive director.

In this role, Peter will help oversee the governance of the business and offer constructive feedback and development to the Executive Team.

Peter has a wealth of experience in customer-centric businesses, having recently stepped down as Group CEO of Pets at Home where he transformed the business by expanding its online and digital offering, increasing its additional services and helping to create a loyalty scheme which now has 7.3 million active members.

Before joining Pets at Home, Peter also held various senior positions at other retailers, including director of buying at Wilko and director of non-food at Asda and a series of produce development and buying roles at Iceland.

Motability Operations Chairman, Sir Stephen O’Brien commented: On behalf of the Board, I am pleased to welcome Peter Pritchard to Motability Operations. His strong experience and knowledge of retail, online marketing and business transformation will be extremely helpful to us as we chart the future of mobility for our customers.”

Discussing his personal connection to Motability Operations and the Motability Scheme, Peter comments: “I am thrilled to be joining the Board at Motability Operations, having been impressed by the dedication, commitment, and values of their people. Previously two of my family have been customers of the Motability Scheme, and I’ve seen first-hand the difference this made to their independence and quality of life.

“I have spent my career in customer facing businesses, leading change, and transformation in an ever-changing customer and technological environment. I look forward to this new role where I will provide guidance, and support to the CEO, Andrew Miller and the team, to ensure Motability Operations continues to excel in keeping customers mobile now and into the future.”

This new appointment comes as Motability Operations continues to make significant progress in mobility developments and accessibility. Most recently with the announcement of a series of innovation pilots to improve EV accessibility for customers, and the return of its annual series of One Big Day events which allow visitors to explore the range of products available on the Motability Scheme and meet Scheme partners and experts.

In August 2022, Motability joined industry leaders in calling for greater collaboration to enhance the accessibility of specialist electric vehicles for disabled people.
