New jobs boost as Primacare expands its manufacturing capacity in Wales
Bespoke seating manufacturer Primacare recently purchased a new factory unit at its Welsh manufacturing site, increasing its manufacturing site to 40,000 square feet and six acres.
The adjacent new unit at the Heads of The Valleys Industrial Estate in Rhymney, Tredegar, will allow Primacare to expand its manufacturing output and help to future-proof further growth within the business.
David Tomlin, Managing Director of Primacare, commented to THIIS: “It is a move that sets Primacare up for 2024 and demonstrates our commitment to manufacturing in Wales.”
The business is currently recruiting additional personnel and will have recruited a further 10 by the end of January, taking the number to 85 at the factory.
This move will facilitate products currently under development, Primacare states, which will involve rehousing some production and relocating the fabrication division. Completion is planned for the end of January.
The Dream Collection, which includes the Dream, Brecon and Aberdare range of sofas and chairs, as well as the Supreme Adjusta care chair, are the more recent seating products to be accommodated by the additional capacity.
Primacare engineers and manufactures its chairs in Wales, where it produces a broad range of mechanisms, fabrics, features and accessories.
Its chairs are designed with input from healthcare professionals to ensure that the end-user is comfortable in a chair that exactly fits their needs. The firm also recently announced that it had appointed Neil Waugh as its new Northern Area Sales Manager.
