The latest technology in mobility products will be on show at this year’s The Big Event, the Motability Scheme’s flagship show, which takes place on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 May 2023 at The NEC in Birmingham.

The show will welcome customers to the new Innovation Zone, where they can talk to the Motability Scheme’s Innovation Team and sign up to take part in customer pilots to help explore the future of mobility. The Innovation Zone will also showcase the latest innovations in powered wheelchair and scooter products.

Future-tech exhibitors at The Big Event include Mountain Trike, Triride, Omeo and Permobil, which is known for its highly customisable wheelchairs.

On Saturday 20 May, visitors to The Big Event can look forward to innovation-inspired Speaker Sessions. At 10am, the Heads of Innovation at both Motability Operations and Motability, the Charity, share details of their innovative work to support the transition to EVs for all disabled people.

Next, at 11:30am, the dynamic duo bringing Omeo to the UK, Cristian and Matt, will be talking about their brand new product and recent success on TV programme, Dragons’ Den.

The Big Event will again be home to the EV Info Hub. Visitors seeking the latest information and expert advice on what to consider when deciding if an electric vehicle is right for them are encouraged to pay the EV Info Hub a visit.

The dedicated Hub will highlight what’s on offer for customers leasing their first battery electric vehicle (BEV), including the features and benefits of the home charging units, which are provided to customers at no extra cost.

Additional opportunities to learn more about electric vehicles at The Big Event include: exploring the many electric vehicles on display from a range of manufacturers, vehicle charging demonstrations from the Scheme’s charging partners, Ohme and Easee, and electric vehicle experts available to answer any questions visitors may have.

The Big Event is the best place to learn more about the Motability Scheme. With over 150 cars, including Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles and over 60 powered wheelchairs and scooters, plus test drives in adapted and standard production cars, The Big Event has everything you need if you’re planning to join the Scheme for the first time, or find your next car.

In addition to the in-person show, The Big Event 2023 will be live-streamed for anyone who is not able to attend. Join host Helen Dolphin MBE, as all the Speaker Sessions plus exclusive live interviews, product demos, Q&As, and footage are streamed to viewers in the comfort of their homes.
