Lilli system

Monitoring technology firm Lilli has provided a progress update as it continues to build customer base, secure partnerships and drive a compelling evidence base for remote monitoring technology’s value within the nation’s care sector.

Lilli’s pioneering technology has been rolled out further across the UK including in Reading, Gateshead and South Tyneside since the start of 2023. It is being used by local authorities and care organisations to support the delivery of a proactive care model.

By tracking and monitoring daily behaviours such as movement, home temperature, bathroom activity, eating and drinking as well as night-time activity, Lilli provides insights that help optimise staff resources and generate care package accuracy. This can lead to better patient outcomes, organisational efficiencies and savings which in turn reduces the burden on the wider ‘system’.

The momentum this year has been supported by the transformational outcomes from recent trials across North Tyneside and Nottingham. The evidence from these trials shows Lilli can accelerate hospital discharge by 16 days – a significant gain given pressure on NHS bed days – and generate over 9,000 extra care hours across two councils. Even in this early stage of the Reading rollout, the council have already generated £65,000 in cost savings and 2400 additional care hours.

As the remote monitoring market continues to grow amid rising pressures on the UK’s social care sector, Lilli states that it continues to innovate for its customers to provide digital solutions for preventative care. Most recently, it comments, Lilli has integrated Vayyar Care’s automatic, touchless fall detection solution, which facilitates fall prevention and rapid response capabilities.

Future updates this year are set to include enhanced AI-driven reporting capabilities, tracking medication adherence to further support wellbeing of vulnerable adults and mobile apps launched on Apple and Google.

Sustained customer, business, and industry growth has fuelled new partnerships for Lilli with the National Care Forum (NCF), Digital Health Council and Nourish Care, the UK’s leading provider of digital care management. Lilli is driving the scaling of digital social care record (DSCR) implementation and the use of innovative data collection to reduce falls, surpassing ambitious government targets that mandate 80 per cent of adult social care providers to have a DSCR solution in place by next year.

The company’s strong foothold in the thriving UK remote monitoring market – poised to grow at a global CAGR of 26.7 per cent until 2027 – has additionally led to a doubling of Lilli’s employee headcount since 2021.

Gren Paull, Chief Executive Officer at Lilli, commented: “There are enormous pressures on care providers today – and at Lilli we share their commitment to empowering people to live happily and independently at home.

“That’s why we’ll continue putting evidence-based decision-making capabilities firmly into the hands of carers up and down the country, enabling them to optimise scarce resources and provide the best possible care outcomes. While we take immense pride in Lilli’s achievements in 2023 so far, we remain keenly aware that our mission to transform social care has only just begun.”

Stephanie Downey, Service Director of Adult Social Care at Gateshead Council added: “Lilli is freeing up a workforce that is very much stressed and under a lot of strain. We’re struggling up and down the country sometimes to provide care packages for people.

“So, if we can help vulnerable adults be more independent using technologies like Lilli, then we know that we can use that really valuable care workforce more effectively to support more people in their own home. Remote monitoring will no doubt be instrumental in helping to solve the current crisis in the sector.”

The update follows the recent news that, for the second year running, Lilli has won the HTN award for best remote monitoring technology.
