Following its NHS contract win in July, healthcare equipment supplier Innova Care Concepts has secured another order with Spire Healthcare Group worth £75,000, which is the company’s biggest Spire order to date.

Having recently been added to the Spire Healthcare suppliers list, Innova was invited to trial its Interlude hospital bed range at the group’s London East Hospital campus. Spire specified that it needed beds to suit standard ward patients, children, and plus-sized individuals and that it wanted all of this equipment to be supplied by one company.

Innova’s team delivered 26 Interlude Newcare V3 beds for standard wards, five Interlude Newcare narrow beds for the paediatrics ward, and one Interlude Platinum in a wide version for the bariatric ward.

In addition, one of the private hospital’s key requirements was to have smaller beds for its children’s ward. To meet this requirement, Innova created a narrow, more compact version of its Interlude Newcare hospital bed.

Innova’s expansion into the private hospital market comes after its recent work with NHS hospitals in England, Scotland, and Wales. The company is also working with Nuffield Health on its hospitals and their equipment.

By working with private hospital groups, Innova hopes that this will cement its position within the healthcare equipment market.

Joe Hulbert, Sales Director at Innova Care Concepts, said: “Our work with Spire Healthcare Group is just one way that we’re expanding within hospitals across the country. We’ve supplied about 80 beds to them so far and they’ve given us some great feedback from both their staff and their patients.

“This deal is certainly a bookmark moment for Innova as we continue to strive to become the UK’s most sought-after brand in the healthcare sector by 2020.”

Additionally, as part of the Spire Healthcare Group, the hospital wanted the footends of its beds to have their colours and branding on them, so Innova came up with a design that can be customised to any Spire hospital in the country.

Innova’s hospital bed range is now being used at several Spire Healthcare private hospitals across the country.
