Independence Mobility become UK distributor of CoMoveIT Smart wheelchair steering system
Leeds-based mobility specialists, Independence Mobility, have agreed a deal with Belgian technology company, CoMoveIT, to become the UK distributor of the CoMoveIT Smart wheelchair steering system.
Designed by a team of clinical and technology experts from the University of Belgium, the CoMoveIT Smart is a head-foot wheelchair steering system for people with complex movement disorders such as cerebral palsy, quadriplegic spasticity, and dystonia, who would not normally be able to drive a powered wheelchair themselves.
The revolutionary system embraces AI technology and offers pressure-sensitive driving, flexible configuration, and continual intelligence gathering, resulting in a relaxed and increasingly smooth ride.
It can also be integrated with other Bluetooth devices such laptops, smart phones, and tablets, further maximising the benefits of technology, and expanding channels of communication.
By using the CoMoveIT Smart, users can enjoy a level of independent mobility not thought to be possible before. The system can be tailored to their strengths and capabilities, enabling them to discover a newfound freedom both indoors and outdoors.
