German supplier debuts lightweight 22kg powerchair in the UK after European success
Meyra, a German-based manufacturer of manual and power wheelchairs and supplier of rehabilitation aids with subsidiaries across mainland Europe, is planning to expand its reach in the UK with the introduction of its lightest power travel wheelchair.
The iTravel weighs 22kg, folds in a single movement and boasts a 10km range which the company says make it the ideal wheelchair for travel, shopping and work.
Designed and manufactured at the company’s purpose-built factory in Germany, Stephen Stone, Sales Director for Meyra in the UK, told THIIS the iTravel is built to meet the high demands of the German reimbursement system and has already enjoyed a successful launch in Europe.
In addition, the company has launched two new high-end powerchairs, the iChair Orbit and the iChair Sky, alongside its existing core iChair MC Series and XXL chairs, as well as boasting a line of active and configured manual wheelchairs.
Despite being a well-known mobility brand across Europe, with subsidiaries in Poland, Hungary, Denmark, Spain, Czech Republic, The Netherlands, France, Italy and Russia, Meyra is lesser-known on British shores.
