Furncare to host expert-led webinar discussing key dementia care factors
Specialist furniture supplier Furncare is bringing together an expert panel for a webinar about dementia care for care industry professionals.
On 2 May, a panel of experts will share their knowledge of dementia and dementia care at Dementia Matters – the first in the 2024 Subject Matters series of care community webinars hosted by Furncare.
The University of Stirling Dementia Services Development Centre and innovators from leading care homes will discuss the key factors to consider when caring for those living with dementia and creating ideal environments for residents with dementia.
In addition to the University of Stirling, confirmed panelists for the webinar include Ruth French of Stow Healthcare, Paul Gaskell from Runwood Homes and Claire Peart, Dementia Lead at Barchester and Jade Eaglen, Interior Design Coordinator at Furncare.
Moderated by Mike Goldwater, content will include a clinical definition of dementia and an exploration of the care issues and common behaviours presented by those with dementia.
The Dementia Matters panel will aim to offer a consensus on best practice and discuss how physical environments impact on those with dementia, and the science behind light, contrast, colour and fabrics when planning care home interiors.
