Former Meyra UK director joins Specialised Orthotics Services to drive global growth
Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare has appointed Stephen Stone as Commercial Director of Specialised Orthotic Services (SOS).
Bringing a wealth of experience to the organisation, Stephen has held senior commercial positions within the healthcare industry over many years.
He joins SOS from German manufacturer Meyra where he had been UK sales director. Recently, Meyra was acquired along with Danish-based Alu Rehab to create a major global brand.
Discussing the appointment, Richard McGleenan, Managing Director of Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare, commented: ‘In SOS there is significant potential for growth across both the UK and international territories; Stephen’s extensive knowledge and expertise will play a key role in realising these commercial opportunities and in developing the SOS business globally.

Founded 40 years ago, SOS provides clinical services for the assessment, manufacture and supply of specialist bespoke seating systems, working closely with the NHS and wheelchair service centres throughout the country.
In 2015, SOS was acquired by Drive Medical in a year of acquisitions for the company, eventually acquiring DeVilbiss Healthcare in July of the same year to become Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare.
