eFOLDi announces new control system upgrades for its folding Power Chair model
Portable mobility specialist eFOLDi has introduced a suite of new enhancements for its Power Chair model, rolling out a raft of new upgrades which promise to deliver improved levels of control and greater ease of use.
The package of improvements has been developed, following input from its trade partner network, in combination with end-user feedback.
The latest edition of its Power Chair model incorporates a brand-new joystick system, making it easier for users to operate when the chair is in use.
A charging port has also been incorporated into the joystick unit to facilitate on-board charging, meaning users now have the choice of recharging their batteries on or off-board. An integral USB port also enables end-users to charge their mobile phones or other devices whilst on the move.
To complement the changes to the joystick system, a new, more advanced on-board controller has been included to help deliver enhanced operational performance, as well as improved battery management capabilities.
With attendant controls fitted as standard, the attendant controls have also been upgraded, alongside the host of other updates. This includes a more ergonomically designed layout for the thumb control, speed control and battery management display on the rear of the chair.
Designed to be the perfect travel companion, the ultra-portable Power Chair folds and unfolds in a matter of seconds, weighs just 15kg without batteries and is fully airline compliant.
Its soft, breathable seat fabric ensures the Power Chair remains comfortable, even with prolonged use, and its oversized wheels aid stability and control when negotiating more challenging urban terrain.

As well as securing the runners-up prize in the prestigious ‘Best-in-Show’ category at last year’s Naidex exhibition, eFOLDi’s Power Chair was recently selected to feature within a new instructional video for the Department for Transport’s “Real person, Real passenger” disability awareness initiative.
The initiative, which aims to promote best practice in airport ground handling operations, is being supported by the British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) and focuses on ensuring the proper handling of mobility equipment and minimising the potential damage to mobility aids whilst in transit. In recognition of its specialist expertise, BHTA member, eFOLDi, was invited to participate in the filming of the video at Gatwick airport.
