Children’s entertainment giant Disney has launched its first-ever line of adaptive Halloween costumes, which features wheelchair cover sets and other easy-access features for disabled children.

Available on shopDisney.com, the adaptive clothing range includes iconic Disney character costumes from a range of popular films, such as an Incredibles 2 suit, a Buzz Lightyear costume and a Cinderella dress.

The new clothing line designed to accommodate wheelchair users, with stretchy fabrics, simple flap openings for easy tube access, and longer length inseams for seated users.

In addition, Disney has created wheelchair cover sets inspired by Cinderella’s coach and the Incredimobile, which enables wheelchair users to transform their mobility aids into fun and interesting costumes.

The Cinderella’s Coach Wheelchair Cover Set fits most wheelchairs and features six felt pieces to go over the user’s wheelchair: two large wheel covers, two small wheel covers, and two carriage pieces. The costume also comes with 12 supportive plastic piping pieces for added stability as well as long self-stick fabric strips to help keep the pieces in place.

In addition, the Incredimobile Wheelchair Cover Set also fits most manual wheelchairs and boasts easy assembly of the various fabric covers to transform the child’s chair into an eye-catching Incredimobile.

Furthermore, the Buzz Lightyear Adaptive Costume has an opening at the back and discreet front opening with a flap, making it wheelchair-friendly. The one-piece bodysuit and gloves enable disabled children to transform into Buzz Lightyear, without worrying about a costume that accommodates their needs.

Similarly, Disney’s Incredibles 2 Adaptive Costume accommodates wheelchair users. The four-piece outfit includes a stretchy bodysuit with an opening at back and a discreet front opening with a flap, plus mask and gloves to complete the look.

Completing Disney’s new line of adaptive costumes is the Cinderella Adaptive Costume, which features an opening at the back and a discreet flap in the front centre for easy tube access. The skirt back is open for wheelchair-friendly wear and the ankle-length skirt also accommodates seated users.
