COVID-19 lockdown prompts business owner to launch new mobility retail brand
A Scottish business owner has created a new mobility retail brand and website after seeing demand for mobility furniture increase during the coronavirus lockdown.
Zafar Ali, Owner of long-running furniture store Buckie Furniture and Flooring, has recently launched North East Mobility Service.
Based in the town of Buckie in Moray, the furniture store has been in the town for forty years, selling a wide range of products including mobility ranges.
Speaking with local newspaper The Northern Scot, however, Ali explained that he saw the need to distinguish the mobility side of the business after seeing demand grow.
“We always offered mobility but during lockdown we saw the increase need for mobility products such as rise recliners and adjustable beds,” he told the newspaper.
Continuing to operate out of the existing furniture store premises, North East Mobility Service now boasts a dedicated website selling mobility products including scooters and powerchairs online, alongside a free local home demonstration service.
“If you’re unsure if any of our products online please come in our Buckie furniture store where we can offer expert advice to ensure you get the right product for your needs,” added Ali.
“We get a lot of training and support from our suppliers and If you unable to make it in store we also offer no obligation free home visits (fully PPE compliant) and video appointments which can be booked online.”
