Clearwell Mobility enters competitive Eastbourne arena after taking on ex-Bathstore premises
The South East’s largest Motability-accredited mobility dealer has moved closer towards the southeast coast, relocating its Polegate showroom to a new space in the busy mobility arena of Eastbourne.
Situated five miles away from its former mobility shop, Clearwell Mobility’s new Eastbourne outlet will see the retailer contest with a number of competitors in the coastal town.
In particular, the move will see Clearwell Mobility’s new branch open within a stone’s throw away of long-established Eastbourne retailer Weald Mobility Care Centre and Hire.
The company’s Eastbourne is located in one of the Bathstore’s closed branches following the purchase of the bathroom retailer in July by Homebase. Rescuing the Bathstore after entering administration, Homebase confirmed it was only taking on 44 Bathstore locations, leading to the closure of 90 branches across the UK.
Describing its new store as bigger and brighter than its ex-Polegate premises, Andrew Finch, Marketing Manager for Clearwell Mobility, told THIIS: “The move to Eastbourne has been one which we have spoken about for quite a while and it has been a case of waiting for the right property to become available.
“While we all love Polegate, the size of the showroom there was just not big enough to display our entire range; we were very restricted. We felt that the move needed to happen to offer our customers the best possible experience when shopping with us.”
Holding its grand opening on the 22nd October 2019, Andrew confirmed that the entire Polegate team has moved with the store, bringing the same level of customer service and expertise to the new location.
Eastbourne’s Deputy Mayor Councillor Sammy Choudhury will cut the ribbon and the mobility retailer is also holding a ‘guess how many ferrules are in the box’ competition, with the chance for some customers to win a £50 Clearwell voucher.
Clearwell Mobility says it will also be offering free mobility scooter safety checks on the day.
Established 15 years ago by husband and wife team Duncan and Natasha Gillett, Clearwell Mobility has grown from a single shop in Brighton to one of the UK’s leading mobility retailers with a network of 12 stores, employing 80 people and with an annual turnover of £5.3million.
Recently, the South East-based mobility company announced a number of eco-measures including changes to its van fleet and the introduction of 5p plastic bag charges in a bid to operate more environmentally-friendly.
The new showroom address is 336-338 Seaside, Eastbourne, BN22 7RJ
