ANNOUNCEMENT: Equipment providers to benefit from OT’s perspective on how to get their products noticed by councils
Kent County Council Principal Occupational Therapist Jane Miller will discuss the procurement and equipment selection process from an OT’s perspective at the mobility and access sector’s only dedicated B2B trade exhibition and conference, RISE @ THIIS, next week.
A clinical perspective on procurement will be very insightful for companies looking to get equipment involved in public sector contracts, as this information is difficult to access and not readily available online.
‘An insight to social care funding, the process of product procurement and order processing from the occupational therapist’s perspective’ will be an unmissable session for equipment providers looking to find out more about council procurement processes and what clinicians look for when sourcing mobility and independent living equipment.
This RISE @ THIIS Conference will take place at 11am on 10 May 2022 at the Doubletree by Hilton, MK Stadium, Milton Keynes. The 30-minute conference is aimed at company representatives, practitioners, and integrated community equipment service (ICES) contract equipment leads.
A key focus in the talk at RISE @ THIIS will inform equipment providers on how to work with occupational therapists (OTs) and practitioners to build professional and effective relationships, and how the procurement system works.
With Jane’s extensive experience of working with equipment company representatives, she will also cover how companies can get their products noticed by council procurement teams, finance issues and considerations involved during the procurement process, and need-to-know information on creating an order.
Jane has experience working for Kent County Council for 38 years as a practitioner and manager of OT services.
More recently, she has been the senior lead for the ICES, chairing partnership board and operational management meetings and endorsing the selection of products through equipment review groups for all adults and children in Kent across health and social care. Jane also co-manages the current telecare contract for Kent County Council.
