Barry Pearson
Barry Pearson was seen as a true ‘star’ at Ableworld and within the mobility industry as a whole.

Mobility retailer Ableworld has confirmed the sad news that Barry Pearson, business owner of seven Ableworld stores, has suddenly passed away aged 55.

Barry was renowned for his enthusiastic personality and his creative passion for his businesses, as he often saw opportunities and was not afraid of working hard to achieve them. He was seen as a true ‘star’ at Ableworld and within the mobility industry as a whole, and he will be deeply missed by many.

From his early age Barry was a keen rugby player, playing for Merseyside County as a schoolboy then the Veteran’s team for Liverpool St Helens. From leaving school, Barry started as a cashier with William & Glynn, rising through the ranks to North West Corporate Director of RBS.

Barry then entered the entrepreneurial world of finance with business partner, Gary Gardner, to create GB Finance Group Limited, and weathered the 2008 crash. He then went on to build Mobility GB Limited, in his first step to his successes with Ableworld.

Since joining Ableworld in 2014 with his first store opening in St Helens, Barry soon saw potential for growth, and his teams went on to open a total of seven Ableworld stores across the North West area, with his latest launching last year in Blackpool. Barry’s success over the years has undoubtedly helped thousands of customers to live more comfortable and active lives.

Besides being the Managing Director of his group, Barry was always seen to be helping where needed, whether that be installing stairlifts, exhibiting at events, or organising his product stock orders. Barry was a true ambassador of his businesses, and will forever be remembered as an exemplary ambassador of Ableworld.

Ableworld are currently confirming plans to ensure the continuing success of the business that Barry and his team have worked so hard to build, to ensure his legacy is a permanent memory in the company.

Beyond his business dedications, after moving to the country in recent years Barry embraced the outdoor life and was working towards off-grid living. Barry was passionate about making a difference in the world and having a positive outlook on life, whether this be in his professional or personal life.

Barry was a gentle and loving family man, and sadly leaves his wife and daughter, and newly expected grandchild this week. His memory will however continue throughout all his close friends and family.

Ableworld ask that all in the mobility industry can join together to remember Barry Pearson, as it sends its deepest sympathies and condolences to Barry’s family during this incredibly sad and difficult time.
