Clearwell Mobility pulls out all the stops to open new concession at Shopmobility store
South East mobility retailer Clearwell Mobility has announced the opening of a new shop concession at the Shopmobility service in Littlehampton, West Sussex.
The new partnership with the charity, will see Clearwell’s range of mobility and daily living aids available to purchase from its town centre showroom.
Following the insolvency of its previous retail partner, Clearwell Mobility was able to move very quickly to get stock to the charity to protect its income stream.
Duncan Gillett, Managing Director, commented: “We pulled out all the stops to mobilise our team to supply and merchandise the new showroom.
“It was vital for the charity that they continued to generate sales income from the showroom which in turn supports the wider Shopmobility service.”
The revitalised showroom was officially opened on 17 March by author and TV personality Lady Colin Campbell, a patron of the Shopmobility charity who lives locally at Castle Goring in Worthing.
Littlehampton Shopmobility was originally established in 1997 to offer residents and visitors the option to rent a scooter to help with access to the town centre and seafront.
Its service was a pioneer of the National Mobility Register – a service to help track down owners if their mobility scooter is stolen.
Alan Gammon, Chairman of Littlehampton Shopmobility, added: “We were delighted that Clearwell could step in so quickly and provide continuity in the showroom.
“The sales that we make through our showroom are vital to the charity and enable us to continue to provide a Shopmobility service for residents and visitors to Littlehampton.”
Clearwell Mobility boasts 12 showrooms across Sussex, Surrey and Kent selling a wide range of mobility equipment and disabled adaptations including mobility scooters, rise recline chairs, stairlifts, wheelchairs, walking aids and bathing equipment.
The company was started by husband and wife team, Duncan and Natasha Gillett, in 2004 from a single showroom in Brighton. It claims to be the largest provider of Motability scooters and powerchairs in the South East.
